“Imperialism!”…

What did YOU think about today’s “shocker“?

Were you scared?
Did some of you feel powerful?
How did it feel to be taken over?
Did you willingly move to the front of the room?

Well then…how does a country gain complete control by taking over the government and economy? The answer: Imperialism!

YOU experienced this today!…

Classes began to explore African colonialism (a type of Imperialism). On Tuesday, each student will finish a personal mindmap on colonial rule in Africa, while focusing on the following 4 points:
-Reasons for colonial rule
-Ways Europeans ruled the colonies
-Effects of colonial rule
-Gaining Independence

Remember: Mindmaps are pictorial illustrations of content. Be VERY DETAILED and SPECIFIC. You should have only a FEW words and phrases on your mindmap. It is just like taking notes with pictures!
