Today we welcomed some new students to our class.

We wiped our minds clear of the “elementary” way of thinking about the earth’s layers. We discussed the inner and outer core, the mesosphere, the aesthenosphere, and the lithosphere. please ask your child what they remember about each layer.

Monday we are going to spend a little more time on the metric system and do some assessment probes.

Have a great weekend!

Today we welcomed some new students to our class.

We will be sorting out all issues with grades, assignments, books, etc. this coming week.

I will try to issue books either Monday or Tuesday.

I showed students their test grade today – some struggled and will have an opportunity next week to work on improving their map skills and test grade.

I handed out the Design an Island Project today. We will be working on this some in class. All they need to do this weekend is decide on a theme and select the 10 landforms that they would like to use. The landforms are on the back of the worksheet we started today and will finish on Monday.

The project will be due on Friday – Sept. 3. It will count as a test grade.

I’ve posted some landform games for you to play:
