The new nine weeks is well underway.
Welcome to the new 6th grade members of our Orchestra! We are proud to welcome 15 new members, sparking a partnership between original and new members; this addition will help all members involved become ever better musicians.
To all 6th and 7th grade members:
Shirt Order Forms are due NOW. Please turn orders and payment in as soon as possible so we can get the order processed quickly. We will have the shirts in time to wear on our first concert.
8th grade members:
Thank you to those of you who turned in their recording on time. If you have not yet turned yours in and need a way to record, please see me to come before school one day to record. I am not to be the audience, however, so please have others come to listen to you!
If you have any questions, please check out the website first:
http://McClureOrchestra.googlepages.com, which is also accessible from the link on the left under my e-mail.
Thanks!

It’s Olympics week! As we celebrate the Olympic Spirit, please note that students will only see me once this week (not including on the field):
First hours of all classes – Monday
Second hours of all classes – Friday
McClure Symphony Rehearsal on Thursday has been canceled this week.
All before-school activities have been canceled for the week beginning Tuesday.
Fundraising is due Today, October 8th. If you forgot to bring it in, please do so ASAP. Please only have 1 check to turn in for each student.
Update for Disney Chaperons:
Chaperon turn-in date has been postponed. We will let parents know as of October 16th if you have been selected to join us, as before then we will not know how many adults will be needed. Thank you for your patience!
The new nine weeks begins in just 1 week! If you have any missing grades, please turn them in ASAP.

We’re almost to the quarter mark!
Several things going on these next couple of weeks:
All Grades:
Fundraising is due MONDAY, October 8th. I will not see all of you this day, as it is the week of Olympics. Please have orders turned in on time! Money (cash or the single check) goes in a white envelope with "Orchestra Fundraising" and your name. Order forms come directly to me.
Thanks for helping this process run smoothly!
Also – if you have any grades missing, please turn in missing assignments or see me ASAP to complete tests. The 9 weeks finishes with Olympics!
8th Grade:
Your recording is due Friday, October 19th. Please state your name, and if feasible, have your audience introduce themselves as well, on your recording. Please label the hard copy you turn in, as well.
CDs or tapes are welcome!
If you do not have the technology available to record at home, set an appointment with another teacher or some friends here at school to record; all Mac laptops are capable (along with the Dells, I believe, too!)
Solo/Ensemble participants are exempt from this requirement.
6th Grade:
Thank you to everyone for getting shoulder rests in a timely manner. I’m excited to be starting with BOWS!!
Keep in mind:
- Bent thumbs
- Rounded fingers
- Fingers covering the frog
- Pinkies on top of the stick
