Wonderful Job!
Congratulations to everyone for such a successful performance! All the groups sounded fantastic, and I am proud of all of you. Pink Panther with one rehearsal came together beautifully – what a wonderful experience, to conduct a piece with so many students under the baton, having the sound resonate as it did Thursday.
Thank you to Ms. Kowalchuk for organizing the reception and all the parents who helped – it really made the evening seem special to me and to all the students. I hope to make that event a tradition!
Entering the final week of school, please be aware of the following events on each day:
Tuesday, May 20th
– School Instrument Turn-In
– Last day with instruments for all students
– 7:00PM, Daniell MS: Allatoona High School Orchestra Meeting with Jim Palmer
Wednesday, May 21st
– Review concert tapes (If any 7th grade parent recorded the concert, a copy would be much appreciated! With everything happening Thursday, I neglected to have someone record the show for us!)
Thursday, May 22nd
– Camera/Yearbook/Carnival Day
Friday, May 23rd
– Last Day of School! I will miss everybody! Practice over the summer!
Please check out the Orchestra website for links to area music camps, festivals and private lesson teachers.
The Georgia Youth Symphony will be housing many private lessons teachers at the Murray Center this summer, just 3 miles away – what a wonderful resource!
