Happy Monday everyone. We are quickly approaching the end of our first Unit. In fact your test will be this WEDNESDAY :)

If you haven’t already started looking back over your notes, you need to do so ASAP. Spend 15 – 30 minutes tonight reading back over them. Create flashcards if you need them to help you study.

3rd, 6th & 7th periods: You should have turned in your “Whale of a Time” activity today. If you didn’t, you need to attach 5 Maverick Monies to it tomorrow when you turn it in.

We will continue reviewing for our test tomorrow during class.

We worked on a little bit of everything today.

3rd, 6th & 7th periods found out that there is a relationship between pizza restaurants and US representative. You also found out how to analyze data the way oceanographers do with our “Whale of a Time” task. We will continue working on this task tomorrow.
Your homework is: Textbook pg. 430 (1 – 7)

5th period: You had time today to finish up your “Dying to Smoke” task. Some of you found out that those scatter plots are sometimes hard to set up correctly. We also started looking at some data from NBA stars. We will continue working on our “Stars of the NBA” task tomorrow.

Happy Monday everyone. I’m going to try and do a better job of updating this blog everyday this week. Sorry for the missed days :(

Today we spent some more time working on box-n-whiskers. I’ve been looking over this weekends homework assignment and have a few reminders for you.

~ Use a straight edge when creating your number lines and box-n-whiskers. This will help with accuracy and neatness.
~ Work neatly! Messy papers usually mean lots of mistakes. Take the time to show your work carefully. I promise, you will make less mistakes if you slow down.
~ Head your paper correctly. This means your name, date and class in the upper right hand corner of your paper and the page number on the top line. Remember what we went over in class.
~ Always use pencil!!

Tonight’s homework: 3rd, 6th, & 7th periods (worktext pg. 246)
5th period (worktext pg. 247)

We are just about done with our study of measures of central tendencies.  Today we went over pg. 232 & 233 in your worktext.   You should have turned in pg. 234 for a grade.

Tomorrow we will be having our first quiz.  It will be over M7D1.a, b & c.  You may bring a 3 by 5 index card (cheet sheet) with you to class to help you with it.  You should focus on the notes that we have taken in our interactive notebooks over those three sections.  GOOD LUCK!

Welcome students!  It’s going to be a great year.  Today we did a little collaboration on a mathematical puzzle.  I hoped you enjoyed working on this fun problem.  We also learned about the interactive notebook that you will be using in math to keep track of your notes.  Please bring your 1 subject spiral bound notebooks tomorrow.  We will begin recording some notes in them right away.

See you tomorrow,

Mrs. T.
