Work, work, work! We finished our Shamrock Stations and Picnic Task…and worked problems from the Geometry textbook: An Integrated Approach. We finished those in class, since we only have a few, and our homework was in the purple Math 2 workbook: page 238 #23 & 24, page 244 #24 & 25, and page 250-1 #19, 27, 30-33. Quiz tomorrow over arc length, area of a sector, volume and surface area of spheres…for real!

Happy St Patrick’s Day! Today we rotated around Shamrock Stations for application problems on circles and spheres. I have copies of the stations if your were absent. The only homework is to review for your quiz over arc length, area of a sector, and all spheres. We will review at the beginning of class tomorrow. Top of the morning to you:)

Today we celebrated PI Day…lots of yummy “pi”s! Thanks to all of you and your parents who sent in goodies…and WOW! how about the homemade ones with “pi” on them! While we ate, we were entertained by Drew, our Mathematicious rapper, and watched a PBS video on pi by Professor Burger. Hope you enjoyed it, as he derived the area of a circle formula and previewed the “unit circle” for you. We ended the day with a PI puzzle on arc length and area of a sector. I had so much fun with you today…Happy PI Day!!

Its….almost….PI Day! We will be celebrating on Monday so all “PI”s are welcome!! Today we learned how to find the area of a sector…homework is page 222-223 #1-30 (omit #23-26). 8 blog area of sector Have an A*W*E*S*O*M*E W*E*E*K*E*N*D!!!

Happy Friday! We took our quiz today and worked some challenge problems out of the white books…homework is page 222 #1-11. Notice some of these problems cannot be factored and you’ll need to use the quadratic formula. Remember to round at the end to make your answer more accurate. It looks like our Circle Test will be on Wednesday…which means “you know what” on Tuesday!! We need candy!! Have a great weekend!
