Today students continued presenting their Canadian Think-Tac-Toe activity.
On Friday I’ll not be at school, so I have moved the 7 regions of Canada quiz and retakes for the physical features map test to Monday. Student will work on a map of the 7 regions and complete study questions using their Cornell Notes from the 7 regions video stream as they prepare for Monday’s quiz.
Students will also begin reading, discussing, and writing Cornell Notes for Chapter 5. This will not be homework for the weekend.
Weekend homework is to study your 7 regions notes and map!! Also, for those retaking the physical features test, be sure to study for Monday’s retake.

Happy Groundhog Day!!
By Atlanta’s General Beau Lee’s prediction, we will have an early spring down south. By Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Phil, our northern neighbors will have six more weeks of winter.
Ask your student/s how Groundhog Day is an example of European impact on American and Canada’s culture.
I did not collect the final Think-Tac-Toe activity today, but let students keep them so they could practice for tomorrow’s presentation. I went over the standards/EQ list and students circled the ones which their activity supports. They began writing/editing their paragraphs.
Homework is to finish your paragraphs. Remember to keep them to no more than 1-1 ½ pages!! Also, rehearse presenting your Think-Tac-Toe activity.
Remember that those who failed the physical features map test will retake it in class this Friday right after the 7 regions of Canada quiz. Study (:

I posted the political and physical features map test grade on Pinnacle on Friday evening.
Students worked on putting their final touches on their 1st Canadian Think-Tac-Toe activitiy. I stressed looking at their checklist and rubric as they finalize everything. These are due tomorrow at the beginning of class. As time permits, we will work on the standards/EQ paragraph together in class. Some students started on it today. It is due at the end of class tomorrow.
Be sure to come in during homeroom to print and upload any files you will need for your project. Homework is to finalize your 1st activity: postcard, brochure, journal, t-shirt, story, etc.
We will share these on Wednesday, review the 7 regions of Canada Cornell Notes on Thursday, and have a 7 regions quiz on Friday. Also, anyone who has to retake the physical features map test will do so on Friday during class. Check Pinnacle notes to see who you are. (I spoke to most of you today.)

Today, students continued working on their Canadian Think-Tac-Toe activity. I looked over their rough drafts, gave feedback to improve, and answered questions. We also reviewed the requirements on the checklists/rubrics and students focused on making sure their research section was completed!!
Continue gathering information and working on your project over the weekend. Final version should be completed by Tuesday! I’ll critique it in class and let minor changes be made as long as time permits. Don’t forget to refer to your checklist and rubric!
The standards/EQ paragraph may be written in class on Tuesday if everthing else is completed.
This first activity will be due in its final stage by Tuesday.

A big “thank you” goes out to all the parents I conferenced with this week. It was wonderful to see your pride in and concern for your child. Thanks so much for your support in helping them be the best that they can be as we work together to help prepare them for their future!
Today, students continued working on their Canadian Think-Tac-Toe activity. They will continue to have access to laptops through tomorrow!!
Continue gathering information and working on your project tonight. Have it in rough draft form by end of class tomorrow!! Don’t forget to refer to your checklist and rubric!
