ACLA students continued reading the City of Ember through Chaps 12-20 and added to their spiral notes. Those who had not tested for Chaps 5-11 did so today.

Students, who have finished reading & testing for City of Ember, checked in their inquiry/character journals to me, then began one of three projects.

Homework is to finish reading City of Ember, if you have not done so, complete your 5 spiral notes, and be prepared to take the final test tomorrow.

ACSS i-movies should be finished by tomorrow end of class!! Tomorrow from 8:10-8:50 AM (Wednesday) morning I’ll work with students on
i-movies. This will be our final early morning work session!!

Sixth graders will view their i-movies on Friday!!

I’ll be demonstrating how to add text and audio, where to go to download free music, and how to import it into your i-movie. I’ll also help problem solve transition difficulties!! See you early in the morning!!

Students continued with their i-movies today. We focused on adding graphics, transitions, text, title page, audio recordings, and music!! We will continue with these through tomorrow.

ACLA students wrote the final draft of their exit ticket defining and giving examples of 4 out of 5 elements of fiction writing. Then they continued reading The City of Ember. Tomorrow we will continue with Chaps 5-6.

ACSS  students continued with their i-movies today. We focused on graphics and transitions. Several groups began adding text, audio recordings, and music!! We will continue with these through Friday.

If you have a 1-2G flash drive, you may want to bring it to save your i-movie. I’ll try to bring in some flash drives and/or an external hard drive, since we have been challenged with folders disappearing!!!!! HANG IN THERE, WE’LL MAKE IT THROUGH ( :

ACLA  During a PPT presentation, students took notes on the elements of fiction writing and we discussed examples of each. After a short review tomorrow, students will write an exit ticket defining 4 of those nine elements and will give examples of each.

Study your notes tonight and brainstorm ideas to use as your examples. Notes will not be allowed during your writing assessment.

** The "25" book lists are past due!!

ACSS students continued with their i-movies today. We were not able to work on compluters, but students did work on their scripts and practiced for the actual recordings, which will take place the next two days.

Students in Per 6 will retake their capitals and countries of Latin America test tomorrow. In case they had not checked i-parent grades, I let students know today who will be retaking the test tomorrow.

Homework is to study for your retakes!!

ACLA continued taking notes and writing inquiry (how, why) type questions with their partner for Chap 5. They also added to their character webs and vocab lists.

Students compiled their 25 book list for the school year!! Most everyone made the requirement!! Those of you who did not, still have one and a half weeks to complete the required 25. READ!!! READ!!!

Some students took their list home to complete sections of it. Please do not lose these and return them completely filled out by homeroom on Monday!!

Homework is to R & R and enjoy your weekend!!

A couple groups are very short of graphics; make sure you have at least 20 by Monday to be allowed to continue with your i-movie.
