BUSINESS CRITIQUE

14 05 2009

Due to a 6th grade Soc. Studies activity next Wednesday, we critiqued our video taped business presentations today. Students discussed ways to make each presentations better… such as rehearsing more, adding better props (which relate to the business), giving more detail to capital goods, human capital, and targeted market/customer, use of maps, etc.  As students compared the different presentations, they discussed how successful each would be in real life.

I hope to have all presentation scores up by tomorrow, end of day.

I collected maps today; our latitude/longitude quiz will be tomorrow…no more delays!!

FINISH MAP FOR HOMEWORK!!

13 05 2009

Maps should have been pretty much completed by the end of class today. All latitude and longitude readings should have been checked, corrections made, tutoring given if needed, and errors rechecked.

Homework is to finish labeling and coloring them before class tomorrow!! Also, continue to practice reading latitude and longitude lines for your quiz, which has been moved to tomorrow!!

Latitude/Longitude Map Activities

12 05 2009

Students continued learning the location of the countries of the Middle East/Asia region as they worked on reading latitude/longitude skills. As they finished each section, we checked them in class.

We will finish writing the #, countries, & capitals on the map tomorrow in class. Don’t forget to draw lines &/or make keys for countries which are too close together to write on them.

NO HOMEWORK TONIGHT***   MAPS DO NOT NEED TO BE COMPLETED DUE TO AFTERSCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND TESTS IN OTHER CLASSES.

***We will have a quiz on latitude/longitude tomorrow, so do study if you cannot locate a country/capital using only latitude/longitude lines.

Latitude/Longitude Middle East/Asia Map Skills

11 05 2009

As we worked with reading latitude and longitude map skills, students worked with a map of Asia. This is an intro to 7th grade studies of the Middle East/Asia region of the world.

This week I’ll share my travel adventures to the Middle East and give a preview to the governments and economics of a few of the countries in the Middle East, as I work with Mrs. Fenton to prepare students for next year. Remember to pay close attention over the summer to what is happening in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa!!

Also, if you become “bored” over the summer, begin working on Sheppard Software & Ilike2learn.com as you become familiar with countries and physical features of the Middle East, Asia, and Africa!!
