<p><span style="color: #00ff00;"><strong><span style="color: #008000;">Homework every night until then is to practice these through the maps we did in class, flash cards,  song, games on the Internet, etc.</span></strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #00ff00;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Students have completed Chap 6, sect 1, Cornell Notes and the chart on pg 152 (including the Olmec section). They have also worked the sect 2, pg. 166 review for ancient civilizations &amp; Spanish/Portuguese explorers.</span></strong></span></p>

<p>The sub will read and discuss Chapter 6, Section 1 pgs.150-159 with the students. Students should have written Cornell Notes for this section yesterday; if not then take notes during the discussion ( :</p>
<p> After discussing Chapter 6 section 1, the students should draw the chart on textbook pg. 152 which compares the Maya, Aztec, and Inca ancient civilizations. As they read Chapter 6  section 2 ( pgs. 160-166 ), they should be able to complete the chart. </p>
<p>If time permits students will work on the Section 2 Assessment on pg 166 #1-4.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Students will complete their physical features map of Latin America today. They have a choice of writing the names on the map or numbering the list and writing the matching number on their map to use as a study guide. I will check the political and physical maps tomorrow.</p>
<p> If they did not do so last week, students will analysis the data charts on pg. 146-149 paying close attention to country, currency, literacy rate, infant mortality, and doctors. Then they will write 6 hypothesis about Latin American countries and their standard of living based on this data.</p>
<p> If the students finish all the above work, they will begin reading Chapter 6, Section 1 pgs.150-159 and write Cornell Notes. Don&#8217;t forget to study the maps, vocab, and any extra “inset” info.</p>

<p>We are strongly encouraging students with computers to access the site listed above to practice for the GA CRCT. Flyers with passwords and usernames have gone home throughout the year. In case these cannot be found, I had students write the username and password in their agenda. Students who do not have computer or internet access may come in during homeroom to practice on my computers.</p>
<p>Today, we accessed the USA TEST PREP site and did the daily question and CRCT vocabulary. Students, please access this site from home if you have not done so&#8230;it really helps prepare you for the CRCT.</p>
<p>Students also continued with geography and government InspirEd stations.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008000;"><strong>Homework is to study all notes, including the vocabulary from the Australian/Oceania InspirEd stations for <span style="color: #ff0000;">Wednesday&#8217;s test</span>. </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #0000ff;">Please keep an <em>eye out </em>for your 2010 Census form. Please fill it out and return it. The data collected by the Census Bureau impacts funding for our schools and communities, government representation, etc. Check out the official Census website listed below for more info.  </span></p>
