- We watched a short video clip about SONAR (If you can’t make it through the weekend without watching it again, it is attached to the warm-up
). - We had a few moments with our groups to put the finishing touches on our graphs and look over the questions.
- We started Revealing the Ocean Floor. It is a review assignment that I will take for a test grade. I think you will do fantastic! Match the clues (phrases) to the ocean floor features. Use the diagram on pages 384-385 and the second diagram that I gave you in class.

- (Advanced only) You were given 10 more minutes to peer edit your composition rough draft. The final copy (ha, I finally said it correctly!) is due as you walk in Friday. We will create the cover page/final product Friday.

- I collected the Wide World of Wondrous Waters map.
- We took the ‘OCEANS’ quiz. I plan to enter grades for this after today’s conference meetings.
Wow! Today flew with our shortened schedule!
PARENTS: Many students are not turning in work on time or at all. Please check Pinnacle to see if your child has a missing assignment that may still be turned in. Here are the codes:
- X: Excused (student does NOT need to turn in assignment)

- I took a grade for last night’s homework. It won’t be posted until those who were absent are able to turn it in on Monday.
- A Wide World of Wondrous Water: ocean map activity (directions below)
- Create a compass: N, S, E, W
- Label the prime meridian and equator
- Label the 7 continents
- Shade the continents
- Cut and glue the clues where they should be located
- Write the answer underneath the clue
QUIZ MONDAY: Study your ‘Oceans Study Guide”. You must be able to label the 5 oceans on a map, spell the names correctly, and put them in order from largest to smallest. (You do NOT need to know specific sizes in km)
HOMEWORK: Finish the ocean map activity

- We brainstormed how to create solutions that could really work to our ocean issues.
