Burlock's Bees

Malav Chakravorty visited our AVID classrooms to share his path to high school success.  Chakravorty is one of five Georgia high school seniors who earned a perfect score on the ACT.  Chakravorty, a student at the Walker School in Marietta, shared how he has maintained his grades while being an athlete as well as a saxophone player in Jazz Band.

Students enjoyed the opportunity to ask him questions.  He suggested that paying attention in class may help students acquire knowledge as well as completing homework a lot easier.

Sixth and Seventh Grade Parents:  Please join us for an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) informational meeting, March 30^th at 6:30 P.M in the auditorium.  AVID is new to McClure this year and we would like to discuss details of the program and answer any questions you might have.  Hope to see you there!

Did you know that a high school student could start earning college credits during high school?  Well, middle school is a great time to start thinking about future educational goals.

Thank you to Kia Wilson, Life University Admissions Recruiter, for sharing insightful educational opportunities offered at Life University.  Students watched a video about science related careers such as dietitians who work with many different populations, ranging from athletes to animals.

Thursday is AVID Tutorial Day.

Friday we will have a guest speaker visit our class.

Monday we will have our Academic Celebration.  Parents are invited to attend.  Your child was given an invitation if he/she will receive an award.
