About the teacher. . . .
I am so excited about education and the wealth of knowledge available to us. I consider myself a lifelong learner. When I was a little girl, I loved to read and practice what I learned in school. I fell in love with words every summer. The words seemed to leap off the pages into my life. I grew up in a small Mississippi town. Even though our community had few resources, books were my key to the world beyond Holly Springs. I studied English and Psychology at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). I moved to Georgia shortly after college. I have continued to advance by earning additional degrees. I have studied at Augusta State University, Freed-Hardeman University, Jacksonville State University, and Argosy University. So, you can see that I love learning. I am certified elementary, middle, and high school! I am married to a wonderful man, Carnell. He is a “walking encyclopedia”. That’s one of the things I love about him most. We love to tour museums, learn about history, and read. We are parents to four children–three teenagers! When we are not busy with football, band, and kid activities, we also enjoy traveling. One of my favorite places to visit is my parents’ home in Mississippi. There’s no place like home.
