First Day…WOW!!!!
The day we have all long awaited has arrived. The students are here!! We planned a day they would remember and I hope they do.
On 6-B, all the teachers dressed as fishermen. Fishing will be our theme this year as we get our students "hooked on learning." When the students entered my language arts classroom, I asked them where were their fishing rods and attire? Most of them stared back at me. I told them that since they weren’t dressed for a fishing expedition, we would go to PLAN B. I went to my cabinet, took off my fishing vest and hat, and replaced them with a very dated man’s sportcoat. I grabbed an echoing microphone and announced we would be playing the "Amazing Fish Facts " game. (These were hard questions. I wasn’t expecting anyone to get them right, although some of them did.) If they missed that question, they got to answer another question based on Williams’ Rules and Procedures." The correct answer was always B which they figured out very soon. A correct answer resulted in a Jolly Rancher.
Tomorrow, will will continue a "Getting to Know You" activity. Students are to bring in a picture of themselves which can be cut, and 3-5 items that symolize their interests and personalities. They should be placed in a container that means something to them. Ex. If you love shoes, place them in a shoebox.
We will continue going over rules and procedures tomorrow.
See you tomorrow, MS. W.
Parents, please review the county folders and return the information as soon as possible.
