Sallas’ Music Notes

All Band Students!!!!! Wear your band shirts on Thursday!! Pictures will be taken from 9:30 – 11am. Your shirt will be your ticket to come and get your picture taken! Report to the auditorium when you are dismissed for pictures.

The second Disney payment is due on Feb 1st. Please make checks payable ot McClure Middle school and place all checks in a school envelope with their name, student ID (lunch #) and 2nd Disney Payment written on the envelope.

The afternoon sectional and band rehearsal schedule for 7-2 and 8th grade is attached. Each student was given a copy in class last week. Rehearsals will run from 4:30pm – 5:30pm. We are bringing in professional musicians to help with these sectionals so PLEASE make arrangements for your child to attend. We are unable to rehearse as a full group during the day so the after school band rehearsals are very important!! Thank you for you help and understanding. Don’t forget to log in your practice time. Just 20 minutes a day or 140 minutes a week. I have attached the practice log for the 3rd nine weeks. If you have lost or misplaced your copy please use this to keep up with your practice time. Parents, we need your help!!! Please sign the practice logs each week. Congratulations on a fantastic first concert performance last evening!  We are so proud of you!  No instruments will be needed this Thursday or Friday since Ms. Barnocki and Ms. Sallas will be attending the Georgia Music Educator’s Inservice Conference in Savannah.  Please bring paper and pencil to class. 

In preparation for our upcoming performance at the Georgia Music Educator’s District 12 Band  Festival we will have a few mandatory after school rehearsals to aid us in our preparation for our performance.  The rehearsals are the same listed in the band handbook that was sent home at the beginning of the school year in the band calendar.  Last week a letter was sent home with these dates. Please refer to the link below in case you may have misplaced either of these.

All 7-2 and 8th grade band members will receive their 3rd 9-weeks pass-offs on the back of the course syllabus in class.  Don’t forget about Practice Charts!  Extra practice charts are available in the band room.

January 23, 2007 both 6-1 & 6-2 Band Classes will combine for their Winter Concert.  The concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the McClure Auditorium.  All students need to report at 6:00 p.m. to the band room for warm-up dressed in their concert dress attire of their McClure white band polo shirt, black dress pants, black socks, and black dress shoes.  We are looking forward to a fantastic first concert performance!
