Sallas’ Music Notes

Everyone should have brought home their personally owned instruments, mouthpieces, reeds, books, etc. by now. All school owned instruments must be turned in by this Thursday.

Any student who would like to check out their school owned instrument for the summer will have an opportunity to do so on May 30th from 3:00-4:00 p.m. You must have a parent/legal guardian with you to fill out the necessary paperwork.

Wednesday all students will need to have paper and a pencil or pen for class.

6th Grade Bands Spring Concert

May 17th /  7:00 p.m.

All 6th grade students need to report at 6:00 p.m. in the band room dressed in concert attire. Concert attire is black dress pants, black dress shoes, and the white band polo shirt or a plain white short sleeved polo shirt.  All students who report on time and perform on the concert will receive 100’s on their last 4 pass-off test grades.  Any student who misses the concert will pass-off those songs individually in class the next day.

All students who would like to raise any previous pass-off grades will have the opportunity to do so in class May 18th through May 22nd. 

7th & 8th Grade Bands Spring Concert

May 10th / 7:00 p.m.

All students need to report at 6:00 p.m. to their designated warm-up area dressed in concert dress.  Black pants, black dress shoes, white band polo shirt or a plain short sleeved white polo shirt.  Any student not dressed appropriately will not be allowed to perform on the concert.  All students who show up on time and perform on the concert will receive 100’s on their pass-off test grades for the music performed.  Any student who misses the concert will pass-off their concert music in class the next day. 

Any student who wishes to raise any of their pass off test grades from this past 9-weeks will have the opportunity everyday in class from May 14th through May 18th.

Our last rehearsal of the school year-Wednesday!!!!!!  We won’t rehearse on Thursday.  If we can get the back half of Jericho up to speed we will definitely play that!  The first half is in really good shape-the back half is just a wee bit shady.  Other definites-Peter Gunn and Spiderman.
