Golf study guide

Our Golf Unit is coming to a close. There will be a 10 question quiz on Friday. It is multiple choice. If you were paying attention in class it shouldn’t be a problem. Know these terms and You will do just fine.

Foursome- The group of 4 people you are golfing with is a Foursome.

Par- The amount of shots is takes the averageperson to get the ball in the hole. Our Soccer-Golf course was a par 3 but some courses are par 4 or par 5.

Birdie- One stroke under par. If the hole was a par 3 and you put the ball in the hole in 2 shots you had a birdie.

Eagle- If you got the ball in the hole in 2 shots under par, you had an Eagle. Just because you had an Eagle doesn’t mean you had a hole in 1. Remember if it was a par 5 and you had an Eagle that means you shot a 3 for that hole.

Bogey- Is one shot over par. If our par was 3 and you had a bogey,  you made the hole in 4 shots.

Double-Bogey- is 2 shots over par. If par was 5 and you had a Double Bogey, you made the hole in 7 shots.

Tee Box is the area where you tee off from. We used 2 cones to represent this. remember most golf courses have 2 sets of these per hole. One for Men and another set for Women that is a little closer to the hole.

Divot-  Remember, When you hit the ball and a hunk of turf goes flying you need to replace you Divot.

Golf Eticutte- No talking when others are teeing off, Player whos ball is furthest from the hole shoots 1st.

3grips we learned- 10 finger grip, Over Hand Grip and Overlap grip.

Know how to keep score.

Good Luck
