Thomas’ Adventure Travels

Hi!

Another short day for the students. We are breezing right through each class. The students are enjoying having less time in class and more time at home. Before you know it Spring Break will be here.

Please don’t forget about the Book Fair that is going on in the Media Center this week. It is opened until 5:00 pm each day.

Those who did not get in their Star and Strikes information may still turn that in if interested.

CLASSWORK

* Today in class we looked how I can use SMART Notebook to enhance the warm-ups and other information being presented to the class. Students were most helpful in teaching me some additional things about the program. They have been seeing it used in math and have learned a lot about the SMART Board. Even though, I don’t have a smart board, there are many of the features that can be used in both Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. 

* Next students took a pretest on the physical features of Canada. Those students who made a 100 will not have to take the test on Thursday, January 28. Don’t forget to study a little more those areas that were missed today.

* Presentations – Some presentations were completed today, although we have more to go. The Culture Boxes are looking really good. It is exciting to see what students have placed inside their box to represent their province or territory.

HOMEWORK

Continue to study for the physical features map test on Canada. It will be given on Thursday, January 28.
