Unit 6 Review Today – Test Friday

Hello 8-B!
Today we spent time working on the study guide that I gave out yesterday. Homework for tonight is to study the vocabulary words that we learned at the end of last week. You MUST know the angle relationships formed when parallel lines are cut by transversals.  Also, review (or RE-WORK) the problems from the study guide.

TEST for UNIT 6 is Friday 3-5!!!!

Help session is TOMORROW morning!!! Thursday, March 4th at 8:15.

See you then!

Proportional line segments and congruent figures!

Hello 8-B!

Today we talked about congruent and similar figures as well as proportional line segments. Homework for tonight is the HW sheet handed out in class “Porportional Line Segments HW #1″

FYI… Our unit test has been moved to Thursday 3/4. I am senfing home the study guide tomorrw. See you then!!

Out 2 days – CATCH-UP!

Hello 8-B!
Today we reviewed angle relationships created with parallel lines cut by a transversal.

First period – we have already done this, so no HW (unless you were absent earlier in the week).

Unit 6 Intro to Vocabulary… Angle Relationships

Hwllo 8-B!

Today we did an activity from the worktext to introduce the angle relationships that we will be using throughout unit 6. Homework for 1st period is to finish the 2 problems you copied from class today. Homwork for 5th and 7th periods is to complete the remaining problems on Worktext pages 192-194 (we tore them out in class today – you should have them with you). See you tomorrow!

Day 3 – Final Review for Unit 5 Re-take

Hello 8-B!

Today we did our final review for the Unit 5 Retest. If you did not get all the solutions for the final Review sheet, here they are:

RevWS #3 KEY

Please make sure you study both the graphing test that we took a while ago as well as the last Unit 5 final that we returned on Monday. There are 2 different study guides that have been given out with examples and problems you have worked out on your own and given answers to in class. I know y’all will do great. See you tomorrow!!!

Test Re-do Re-View – DAY 2

Hello 8-B!

Today we checked over HW and I gave out a new study guide (part 2). We reviewed how to write the equation of a line and worked with scatter plots and lines of best fit. HW for tonight is Review WS #2. Test re-take is Friday. See you tomorrow!

Math Test Review PART 2

Hello 8-B!

Today I returned your Unit 5 tests and many of you were not very successful in showing everything that I know you know about graphing and writing equations of lines. Because of the low test scores, I am giving another opportunity to show your skills on Friday. Please be reviewing your notes and working on the in-class examples so that you do better on Friday’s re-test. HW for tonight is Review WS #1. See you tomorrow!

Unit 5 Final Exam Review

Hello 8-B!

Today we worked on the study guide for tomorrow’s test. I explained how to do each section and gave solutions in class. Here are the answers for anything that you may have missed or needed to review again.

Unit 5StudyGuideparts 2&2aKEY

Please also use the study guide for the graphing test that we went over before that test a few weeks ago (it is copied on green paper). I talked abou this in class and even showed you what it looked like. I also think it would be good to look over your notes and examples we have done in class. There is a yellow packet on slope and graphing lines information and a blue sheet for graphing inequalities. We also did a word problem page where we graphed the data and talked about slope as a rate of change. Lots of information to help you be successful tomorrow on our Unit 5 Final Exam!!!

 I will see you tomorrow!

Lines of Best Fit and Scatter Plots Day 2

Hello 8-B!

Today we reviewed lines of best fit and scatter plots. HW for all classes was to complete the Scatter Plots WS (front and back). 1st period – we completed this work in class – so no HW for y’all.

Thursday 2/11 is our Unit 5 Final Exam. Please use the graphing test study guide and the actual test itself to review and I will be giving another study guide that will cover equations of a line. Also, the orange packet I handed ou ton Friday (1st and 7th) and Monday (5th) – is a great source for test review.

Here it is if you can’t find it or need it again:  writingequationFORMAssessment

Also here is a study guide for graphing equations:

GraphEquationsInequalitiesSTUDY GUIDE

Here is the information I gave out in class today for what will be on the Unit Final:

Calculating Slope as a rate of change

Graphing Linear Equations and Inequalities

Finding x- and y-intercepts

Writing the equation of a line given 2 points, point and slope, slope and y-intercept, and a graph.

Slopes and equations of parallel and perpendicular lines

Lines of best fit and scatter plots

Lines of Best Fit Lesson 12-7

Hello 8-B!

Today we worked on finishing the quiz from Friday on writing the equation of a line. Then everyone did an independent study on Lines of Best fit. You took notes on pages 660 – 661 in the textbook and then completed the following problems: p.662 (1-10) and p.663 (15-24). Finish this for HW. Those of you who were assigned the extension activity started it in class on Friday and were to complete it in class today and turn it in. Please be sure to complete the textbook assignment for tomorrow.

UNIT 5 TEST is scheduled for Thursday 2/11. Please start reviewing graphing linear equations and inequalities and writign the equation of a line.

See you tomorrow!
:) Mrs. J.
