Clsswork: Mr. Marc explained/assigned the Tribute Poem. It is due Friday. We read “Abuelito Who” by Sandra Cisneros in Lit. Txtbk. pg. 284. Mr. Marc collected Persuasive Papers and Work-Cited pages. Those who did not turn it in today, can turn it in tomorrow for a late grade. Also, we peer reviewed the Adjective Quiz.

Homework: Complete Predicate Adjective Pckt.

Classwork: We reviewed ‘What is an Adjective” packet. Also, we reviewed DGP/DRP Quiz #7.

Homework: 1) Please complete your Final Draft of the persuasive essay with a cover page.

2) Complete Works Cited Page using www.easybib.com . (Only sources you have used to insert quotes, and word-for-word facts, and statistics should be inserted on your Works Cited Page).

Steps in using www.easybib.com:

Step 1: Click on Start a New list

Step 2: Click on Choose a Source

Step 3: Fill out all the fields

Step 4: Finish or add a new source (Only sources you have used to insert quotes, and word-for-word facts, and statistics should be inserted on your Works Cited Page).

Step 5: Complete the Works Cited Page by clicking “Export to Word”. (If that does not work, click on Copy & Paste.)

Step 6: Be sure that the title at the top of your Work Cited Page, is Work Cited Page!!!

ALERT: You need to type your final draft an create a Cover Page (The cover page includes your title in the center, and your name, class, and block in the bottom right hand corner.)

Class work: I taught the students how to write two different types of direct quotations into their writing. The expectation is to have two different quotes in their persuasive essay. I also took a project grade for the interviews the students completed outside of school for their persuasive essays. The interview is a great place to get two quotes for your essay!

Homework: 9 wk Reading Project is due by Thursday! Persuasion Unit Test is tomorrow!

Class work: I collected the Ego Poem. We completed Musical Editing Chairs to revise our persuasive essays.

Homework: Write/Type your 2nd draft of your persuasive essay. Interviews are due tomorrow.

Class work: Students completed Friday’s D.G.P./D.R.P. warm up, then the warm up packet was collected for a grade. Afterward, they reviewed the “Adverbs in Sentences” Wksht.. Last, they reviewed for the Persuasion Unit Vocab Test using the Persuasion Unit Test Study Guide. (I forgot to mention in prior post that it had been written on the board, they have been reminded daily, and told to study Persuasion Vocab notes, in preparation for this test.)

Homework: Ego Poem due Monday!!/(Block 5, also needs to complete the “Adverbs in Sentences” Wksht.)
