Study Guide for FF test

October 30th, 2009 by Ms. Solomon in Uncategorized · No Comments

1. Punt from the 1st down cone to start every game.

2. Receive from the opposite 1st down to start every game.

3. Ball must be snapped from the center to start every play.

4. Punts are the only time a fumble may occur during the course of the game.

5. If the ball is dropped during play it is down on contact with the ground.

6. No stiff-arming or flag -guarding.

7. No running through or over a defender (could result in ejection from the game)

8. One defensive rush every new 1st down and a rush is allowed during the extra point(s) attempt.

Flag belts must be worn over T-shirts.

10. No quarterback sneaks.  The quarterback may run only if rushed by the defense.

11. Hand-offs are allowed.  The defense may cross the scrimmage line if this happens.

12. A safety equals 2 points.  A safety is called when a player’s flag is pulled in the opponent’s endzone.

13. A touch-back occurs when the ball is punted out of the receiving team’s end zone or when the receiving team takes a knee (downs the football) in the end zone.

14.  The line of scrimmage is the imaginary line offense and defense line up with to start each play. The line of scrimmage  is marked by the downed football.

15. The extra point or two point conversion occurs after each touchdown.   The ball is placed at a designated line (10 yards out for 1 point and 15 yards out for 2 points).  The offense has one play to score the points.  If the ball is intercepted and run all the way back the opponents receive 1 or 2 points. Defense can rush during the extra point(s) attempt.
