The first meeting of Advanced Chorus for 2010 was on Tuesday, January 12th. At that rehearsal students were given a contract/letter which included the dates of concerts and rehearsals for the next two months. The letter is also attached. Please sign and return to Ms. Benson by Thursday, January 14th to indicate that you have received and agree with everything on it. The letter is also attached here. Students who missed the test in November will have one more opportunity to make it up before the quarter is over. Students may come to the Chorus room on Thursday morning, December 17th, at 8:00 AM or may stay after school that day. (They will be finished by 5:30.) All test grades have been entered into Pinnacle. If a student has a “Z” it means they need to make up the grade or receive a zero.

The 7th and 8th grade concert will be at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8th. STUDENTS WILL STAY AFTER SCHOOL ON THE DAY OF THE CONCERT. Those who paid for pizza will have that to eat before the concert. If they did not pay for pizza they are encouraged to bring a snack to eat after school. This concert will also include the Advanced Chorus and Men’s Chorus. It should be over no later than 7:00.
The 6th grade concert will be at 7:30 on Tuesday, December 8th. STUDENTS NEED TO BE IN THE CHORUS ROOM DRESSED AND READY TO SING BY 6:45 PM. This concert will also include the Advanced Chorus and Men’s Chorus. It should be over no later than 8:15.

Attached are the study guides for each of the chorus classes.
The 6th grade test will be on Tuesday, November 17th.
The 7th and 8th grade tests are being pushed back to Wednesday, November 18th.
All Chorus classes will have a written test on Tuesday, November 17th on information covered since the beginning of this nine weeks. Study guides will be sent home and attached to this blog on Friday, November 13th.
Attached is the form for the Disney poinsettia fundraiser. DisneyFundRaiserOrderForm
Students who participated in the first fundraiser for the Chorus will receive the full profit from this fundraiser toward their Disney trip. For each of the poinsettias sold by the students, they will receive $6 toward their trip.
Students who did not participate in the first fundraiser are allowed to participate in this fundraiser, but will receive only $3 toward their trip per poinsettia. The remainder will go to the Chorus.
There will be three options for the poinsettias sold. There are 6″ RED and 6″ WHITE poinsettias which will be $10 each. There are also 6.5″ ICE PUNCH poinsettias (mottled red and white) which will be $15 each. No matter the sale price of the poinsettias, the profit per student is the same. (The 6.5″ ones are much more expensive for us to buy.)
Please make sure to get the money when you take the order. ALSO, CHECKS MUST BE MADE TO THE PARENTS OF THE STUDENT. THE PARENTS WILL MAKE ONE CHECK TO “MCCLURE MIDDLE SCHOOL”.
Orders and money are due on Monday, November 16th. The flowers will be delivered to McClure the week after Thanksgiving.
On October 10th, seven of our 7th and 8th grade Chorus students auditioned for All-State Chorus. The results just came out and five of them made it to the final round. Congratulations to: Gracie A., Olivia G., Laura B., Ericka P. and Leah E. We are so proud of you!
