Food Safety
7th and 8th graders have learned about food safety and sanitation. The tone was set as students were welcomed to class with Dr. Davis’ rendition, "Stomache Tonight." Food safety facts were presented by powerpoint as students took notes. After a summarizing the food safety information and whole-class participation reviewing, students were quizzed. Do you know the best way ever to avoid food-borne illness is to wash your hands! Students learned that the Danger Zone is food temperatures being 40 degrees F. to 140 degrees F. As a final assessment, students are to research and illustrate a poster about food safety. The poster is due Friday, August 22nd. A handout with instructions and the grading rubric was given to every 7th and 8th grader enrolled in FACS.
