Today in Pre-algebra we worked on a project called “Coat of Arms” where the students reflected ordered pairs based on the name several times to create a design which will represent their coat of arms.  The 3/4 and 5th periods got to experiment with the graphing calculators and the coat of arms if they finished.  Homework for tonight is a 1/2 review sheet on direct/indirect variation and to finish the Coat of Arms.

Today in Pre-algebra went to the PC Lab and did My Skills Tutor to prepare for the CRCT.  There is no homework for this weekend.

Today in Pre-algebra we did a mixed review over reflections, rotations and translations.  Homework for tonight is to study for the quiz tomorrow on reflections, rotations and translations and do the 1/2 sheet on the 3 transformations.

Today in Pre-algebra we continued working on rotations with a  rotating decagon.  3/4 and 5th periods learned how to reflect a figure over a diagonal (y=x and y= -x).  Homework for tonight is as follows:

3/4 & 5th: 1/4 sheet on reflecting over a diagonal

6th & 7/8: Finish rotating decagon and 1/4 sheet on simplifying algebraic expressions

There is a quiz on Friday over rotations, translations and reflections.

Today in Pre-algebra we moved on to Rotations.  We took notes and worked a practice sheet.  Homework for tonight is Study Guide 10-9.  There is a quiz Friday on rotations, reflections and translations.  Help session tomorrow  8:15.

Today in Pre-algebra we continued working on the transformation “reflections”.  We did a class activity on reflections.  I picked up the last 2 weeks worth of warmups for a grade and the Translating Decagon from Thursday as a homework grade.  Homework for tonight is Study Guide 10-8 that was handed out on Friday.  There is a quiz over reflections, translations and rotations on Friday.

Today in Pre-algebra we took notes on our next transformation called reflections.  We worked a practice sheet in class.  There is no homework for the weekend however Study Guide 10-8 is due Tuesday (it is on the back of the practice sheet that we did in class today).  There will be a quiz next Friday on the 3 transformations that we will have covered (translations, reflections & rotations)

Today in Pre-algebra we continued working on translations from yesterday.  We did a small performance task where the students had to take a decagon and translate it to several different places on the coordinate plane.  Homework for tonight is to finish translating the decagon.

Today in Pre-algebra we started a new unit M7G2 (Transformations-rotations, reflections, translations and dilations). We took a pre-test and then  we took notes and worked problems.  Homework for tonight is Study Guide 10-7 which is on the back of the worksheet we had in class today.

Today in Pre-algebra we took our test on Direct/Indirect Variation.  There is no homework.
