All About Ms. Patterson

July 7, 2010

Hello!  My name is Kayla Patterson and I am a first grade teacher at Austell Primary School.  This is my sixth year teaching, and my fifth year at Austell Primary.  I have previously taught kindergarten for two years at Austell Primary and one year in fifth grade at Austell Intermediate.  This is my third year in first grade and I am very excited to be a part of the first grade team once again this year!

I am a product of Cobb County Schools.  I attended Mableton Elementary, Floyd Middle School, South Cobb High School.  I have lived in and around Cobb County for most of my life and I am very dedicated to the success and achievement of the students in our community.

I am a graduate of the Women’s College at Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia.   I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in dance.  I completed my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Brenau University’s Evening and Weekend College in 2008, and I am planning to  beginning my Specialist degree in Gifted and Creative Education from the University of Georgia this coming year.

I love teaching and I know that there is no other job on Earth for me!  I enjoy each and every day in the classroom with your children.  Each day is different, and each day the students bring new and exciting  perspectives to the table.

I am looking forward to a wonderful fun-filled 2010-2011 school year!
