Today in class we completed the Study Guide and worked with tips, sales, tax and discounts.
Homework tonight in is the thick workbook, page 245.  Do all the problems.  It is acceptable to use a calculator.

Today we continued to work on converting between fractions,  percents, and decimals.  We used our study guides to help us solve problems on the homework from last night.  Several students were confused on how to solve fractions to percents so we worked those problems, in depth, using our study guide.

Today in class we worked on converting percents, decimals, and fractions.   Every student received a Study Guide that gives detailed instructions on how to convert.  The study guide also included a chart of the most popular fractions and percents and number lines showing where they stand between zero and one.

Proportions

Today in class we learned how to use the “Box” to set up and help us solve word problems using proportions.  The “Box” helps us to compare apple to apples and oranges to oranges.  See notes for further explanation.
