After we took a student survey today, we looked at the bar graph we created on our focus countries and compared the different countries life expectany, literacy rate and GDP. Tomorrow we will start Unit 7: Government of Africa.

Today we learned about the independence of Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. After reading each story, we looked at Mr. Cloud to figure out each story through pictures. To some, it was a challenge and to some, it was fun. It was certainly a different way to learn. Tomorrow we will have a review for the unit test on Thursday.

After our reading of a primary source account of what the Africans had to endure during the “Middle Passage”, we wrote a slave diary putting ourselves in the role of either the slave or the slave trader. These diaries are due tomorrow.
