We created our own community today as we reviewed the five themes of geography. Sorry, Jose! Your house ended up on the end of the airport runway:) We also learned about our class mascot, Mr. Cloud. We will be working with him for the rest of the year. He will help us take our writing and reflections to a higher level!

We had a great time setting up our class for group work today by playing "desk olympics". We will compete all year with our classes to see who will win the most medals for the year. What a great way to get ourselves ready for group work!

Today we took two-column notes on the first section of our book…"Map Basics". These notes will help us tomorrow when we start on our map skills projects. We also learned how to remember the difference between latitude and longitude. Check out the dog below. Which one is he saying????? The first five people to tell me the answer tomorrow win a trip to the UT candy jar! Woohoo!
