TEST PREPARATION

We are still reviewing our Units One AND Two Topics :  Environment Conditions, Interdependence of life, Energy Flow and Nutrient Cycling. This is in preparation for our test on the 23rd. We completed the Carbon and Nitrogen cycles Quiz, Interdependence of life and energy flow. All period classes completed these, except the 7/8 period class that could not complete it due to the AVID connection.

Homework  Complete your Crossword ( Vocabulary Word) puzzle. We will work through it tomorrow . Your Skill worksheet(Critical Thinking) is due on the 24th.

We were able to work through our Homework  on Page 511 of your text book. You corrected your errors .  We also reviewed the concepts water, carbon and nitrogen cycles. You received your test study guides in preparation for our Quiz tomorrow and test on the 23rd.  Your homework: Section Review page 511 of your text book, will be graded as late assignment  if you did not turn it in today.

Traveling Nitrogen

Except the 6th period class, the rest of you completed your trip on  ‘Traveling Nitrogen’ activity. Recycling of matter

  To help you gain understanding of the varied pathways through the nitrogen cycle and the relevance of nitrogen to living things, you started your ‘Traveling Nitrogen ‘ activity through the nitrogen cycle today. You did not complete this in class today. You will complete your journey in this activity tomorrow, and summarize your trip with a  map.

Carbon cycle/ Terrarium

Glad to be back. I missed you all.  Thanks for all your prayers.

You turned in your terrarium data chart today.  Thanks so much for observing and recording your results while I was absent. Most of you were also able to complete the Data analysis.

We completed our assignment on ‘Windows to the Universe’ Carbon cycle. You also watched the video streaming on carbon cycle and completed your Quiz. Good job!

Homework   none

Test      We will have a test on the 23rd of October. This test will cover the following concepts:

Environmental conditions, Characteristics of Biomes, Relationships between Organisms, Energy flow between organisms , and Recyling of matter between organisms and their environments.

You will receive your test study guide on Thursday  the 16th.

Test/Terrarium

You all did a great job today in buiding your terrarium. Make sure you observe and record your observations  on your Terrarium for the next six days.   The Data spread sheet was given to you today. Please follow the instuctions in recording your results.  The rubric for grading is also on that sheet.

The  due date for  turning  in your lab result is  13th of october. 

TEST : You will have a test on Ecology/Cycles of matter on Thursday the  9TH, and you will work on the study guide for the test on Monday. I am sure you all are looking forward to the test.

Monday is the last day for  picking  up  Biome boxes.  We need to clear the  counter to create enough space for new projects .  Any box left in the classroom after Monday, goes into the trash.

If  you did not turn in your Cloz activity today, turn it in on Monday though it will still be counted as late.
