Monday: Opening# 34 PreTest for Genetics
Tuesday: Opening # 35 Early Release for snow. Genetics Vocabulary (12 words) pages 114, 120, and 126. You have the choice of a vocab log, notecards, trading cards, or frayer model. Remember every model must include at least a word, a definition, and a picture.

Homework: 5th and 6th block have the vocabulary for homework, 3/4 and 7/8 do not have it for homework.

Wednesday: Snow Day Schedule, we worked on the vocabulary from Tuesday and watched part of a genetics video.

Homework: Finish the vocabulary.

Today, we did opening # 20 and then we worked on our group activities for the tiers. The last day to work on the activities at school is Friday, February 12. They must be turned in by the beginning of class Tuesday, February 16. Presentations will be February 16-19.

Today, we did opening #18. Then we continued our tiered Body system and kingdom activities. Computer days will be the Feb. 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th and group days will be Feb. 3rd , 4th , and 12th. All activities are due on February 12. Presentations will begin the next week.

This Thursday, February 4 is “Make a New Friend and Dress Like a Twin Day” and “Mix It Up Lunch Day”. We are also having the following poster contest.

Poster Contest – Students are to create anti-bullying posters to display in the hallways of our school. They can be created here at school or at home. Entries are due Friday, February 12 to Mrs. Foxwell in Room 726. These will be judged by our committee and winners will be announced the following week. All winners will receive Target gift cards. First Prize: $20. Second Prize: $15. Third Prize: $10.

Rules for the Poster Contest:

• Submissions must be a poster no bigger than 2ft by 3ft that incorporates a no name-calling, no cyberbullying, or no bullying theme.

• A teacher, guidance counselor, family member or other adult may help students develop an entry, though the actual content should be the student’s own work.

• The student’s name must appear somewhere on the work itself.

• Only one entry per student may be submitted and all entries will become the property of ESPN and will not be returned.
