Join us at 7pm for our Annual Cultural Arts Night!

Our McClure Cultural Arts Night will include:

• Student & family presentations about different cultures from around the world
• Many community outreach opportunities to support Must Ministries
• Interactive learning stations
• Entertainment will be provided from the community including our band & our orchestra
• Student art will be on display
• International fashion show
• An international food contest & international chocolate contest.

All parents are invited to Coffee and Conversation with Principal Wing on Thursday, February 4th from 8:30 – 9:30 AM. This will be a time of open dialogue to chat or ask any questions that you may have about McClure. This time will give everyone involved an opportunity to dialogue about the school in an informal setting, and give Mrs. Wing a chance to know you better. Please join her!

McClure Student Council is selling Carnations again this year for $1 each. Parents may pre-order carnations for their chidren, children’s teachers, or other staff during each morning and afternoon of Conference Week. Please stop by our table in the Atrium. Delivery will be Friday, Feb. 12th. Thank you so much for supporting STUCO, and remember, Say it with Flowers!

This Friday, January 22 from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm, the Movie Makers Club, under the direction of Mr. Marc, will be presenting an event called “The MAD Hat Celebration” in the theater. They will feature their top films from this school year including the notorious “Thriller” film, and their own version of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”. The cost to enter is only $3 MAVERICK BUCKS!! There will be dance contests, Prize Giveaways, and much more!! Tickets are being sold in the main atrium during the homeroom time! Buy your tickets tomorrow before it sells out!

Conference Week is just around the corner and although the kids enjoy a week of short school days, the teachers’ work days are extended that week.  As is our tradition, the McClure PTSA is planning to prepare a “Snacks on the Go” table for teachers to provide a little extra energy boost throughout these long days.  We are asking for the following donations to help with this:

6A:  Individually wrapped snack cakes, cookies, boxed breakfast bars, granola bars, or bite sized candy bars

6B:  Fresh or dried fruit

6C:  Individually wrapped packages of peanuts or trail mix

7A:  Assorted snack crackers, bags of chips, or yogurt

7B:  Bottled water

7C:  Canned soda (regular and diet)

8A:  Bottled water

8B:  Canned soda (regular and diet)

Donations may be dropped off in the front office on Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22.  The fresh fruit and yogurt can be dropped off Monday morning, January 25 in the front office.   We appreciate your support!

All Cobb County schools will be closed Friday, January 8, due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions.

Hat Day is coming in 2010, Wear your best hat to help once again.

The Flood may be over but the need is still there,
Our donations show others that McClure families care!

A special thanks to all parents who donated all the wonderful food for the Teacher and Staff Holiday Munchie Monday at McClure on Monday, December 14!  It was awesome…an abundance of yummy stuff.  The teachers truly enjoyed themselves and were well fed!
