Monday – We learned how to construct Parallel lines.
Tuesday – We took the Benchmark test today over the 2nd nine weeks. This is a county test. It does not count for a grade.
Wednesday – We will review constructions for our test on Thursday. They need to know how to form each construction. The test gives examples of a construction and asks what needs to be done next. It also refers to vocabulary and symbols of geometry. They will have a study guide. (attached here as well)
Thursday – Unit Test M7G1 on constructions. Constructions Test – STUDY GUIDE
Friday – Math Game Day.

We have continued our constructions by bisecting an angle today. The students currently have 4 color coded constructions that we have learned so far: copy segment, copy angle, bisect segment, bisect angle. If they have a compass at home, it would make their practice much easier. We will learn three new constructions next week.
Monday is a quiz on their vocabulary and these four constructions. They will be allowed to use their notes for constructions, but they do need to practice them. They will not be allowed to use their notes on the vocabulary and definitions.

Today we learned how to copy line segments and angles using a straight edge and a compass. The students were given brightly colored notes to help them follow the steps. I provide compasses in class. We will continue more constructions tomorrow.
HW: Finish worksheet practice started in class. They can use a compass if they have one. I’ve been showing them how to also use string and do the same steps.

Today we began our unit on constructions. We reviewed the standard and the vocabulary associated with it. We took notes on basic geometry terms.

HW: Use their class notes to complete a worksheet on geometry. They only have to fill in the symbol and draw a picture. Their notes from class today should provide them with the information they need to complete this.
