Star Science Students of the Week Winners:Who will be our First week Star Science Students of the Year 2010 on 6-B for the 4th Nine Weeks? Will it be you? I hope so…Mr. Limpert is looking for your positive participation, effective team work, hard work, effort, going above and beyond the call of duty, thinking outside the box, showing your creativity, using the countdown numbers correctly in class and being you. Winners for the week of March 8-12th are as follows: This week I am looking for students who display excellence in lab, team work, and in positive participation!
The following students displayed excellence on the positiveness and on participation this week- Great team work as well! Way to go! Congratulations! They also showed what it is like to be an active participant in class, and they showed leadership skills throughout the week in class. Finally, they displayed overall excellence in their science grades for the 3rd nine weeks. I’m very proud of each of you! This week I will be looking for inside and outside of class workers(individual and team work), especially on our Weather CD Projects.

***6-B Science Start-Up Chart Daily Question/Answer…Don’t forget the daily, new and recent question to write in your box on your chart and then to answer it. ***You are now required to write out the new question, the letter of the correct answer and the full answer in your boxes for the Pink start-up chart. Remember, you will have a 3 minute time period to complete the start-up question of the day before we will disucss it. If you miss a day or miss some questions, it is your responsibility to come to me, to check with one of your classmates, or to see me during homeroom to get the question you missed so you can complete it. Blank boxes are incorrect boxes when these charts are collected and checked! Writing the old question correct letter and the answer in your box is bonus! We will discuss the answer to this question each day. Every day we complete the next numbered box. It is your responsibility to keep this chart in the front of your binder so you can access it each day…At the end of the 20 boxes these charts will be collected for a major grade! Then, we move on to the next chart…Pink is the new color of choice for these charts!

Unequal heating of Earth’s surface-Warm, less dense air rises at the equator(low pressure) and flows towards the poles.. At the poles, air is colder and denser, so it sinks.? This creates high pressure around the poles and this cold, polar air flows toward the equator.

Also, the first Friday of every month is a hat day at McClure. The students may pay a minimum of $1.00 to wear a hat. A sticker must be purchased in the morning, and it must be put on the hat in order for the hat to be worn. All donations collected will go to the flood relief effort.
