Language Arts – DGP/DRP; writing. Homework: Finish three-paragraph essay. Due Friday. Submit with drafts.

Math – Warm Up; return and review unit 1 test. Compare fractions. Homework: Review if you’d like to redo. Study session for unite 1 test redo will be on Friday. Test redo will be on Monday 9/13 at 8:15 a.am.

Open House for seventh grade will be tomorrow at 7 p.m.

PTSA Open House for 6th Grade is Tonight!

Open House starts at 7:00 p.m. and will end about 8:45. Parents need to report to your child’s homeroom to begin the evening. Seventh grade Open House will be on Thursday. I’m looking forward to meeting you.

Language Arts - Continue with narrative writing. Homework: Grammar Week 5.

Math - Finish unit 1 test; discuss misleading graphs. Homework: Thick workbook page 272-3 (started in class).

Friday, September 3

Language Arts – DGP; still working on first paragraph. Homework: Finish DRP (write a summary using 3-4 of the vocabulary words from the DRP). Note: Sixth grade Open House is on Tuesday.

Math – Unit 1 test. No homework.

Thursday, September 2

Language Arts- DGP/DRP; prewriting. Homework: Work on the first paragraph. (Remember to include the topic sentence, details and the concluding sentence.)

Math – Warm Up; study guide. Homework: Work on study guide.

News from the Media Center!

The McClure Media Center is excited to announce the Book Trailer Video Contest! Students, create an interesting, attention-getting, preview that will make book-readers all across the country want to come read the book you’ve chosen. All videos must be submitted by Tuesday, October 5th. Students can submit videos any time between now and October 5th, but judging will take place October 6th-12th. Late entries will not be judged. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, October 12th at Family Literacy Night. First Place: A Flip Video Camera. Second Place: $50 Barnes & Noble gift card. Third Place: $25 movie theater gift card. Mrs. Harpin will be offering a couple of morning help sessions for students who want to learn how to make movies and cartoons. Please come to the Media Center to pick up a pass. Math – Warm Up; review types of graphs; lesson-scatter plots. Homework:Thin wkbk pg 66. Prepare for the upcoming test. The date will change to Tuesday because of the Renaissance celebration on Friday, and there’s no school on Monday. Look at measures of  central tendency, stem-and-leaf plot, box-and-whisker plot, scatter plot. More practice tomorrow!
