Block one students visited Ms. Williams’ math class and participated in a game of probability. They learned a lot from the "Win For Life" Lottery game!
There is no homework, but those who got a low score may do corrections on loose leaf paper, and resubmit on Monday. Have a great week-end.

The first quiz was done Tuesday, August 19. Students had a chance to study and retake – some took the opportunity to improve their grades. Our study session today had two students – we reviewed key concepts that we have been working on in class.
Parents, please check the agenda each day because that is where daily assignments are recorded, and notes to you may be written. Remind students to complete and submit homework. Grades have been posted.

Parents, please make sure that your child is completing homework when assigned. Assignments are written in the agenda each day. We will be using the textbooks, so students need to bring them to class.
Homework: Workbook pages 269-270
Textbooks were distributed today – please get book cover to protect them. A copy of the syllabus was also given. Please read and sign the attached sheet requesting contact information. The students did a pre-test of chapter 10-1 vocabulary (given on Monday) as warm up activity, and the results show that a lot more time needs to be spent studying. Remind them to use the study cards.
Homework: The page was taken from the workbook. We started in class. Remember to initial agenda each day.
First Block – We met briefly today (there was an eighth grade assembly) so we did not complete the group activity.
Third Block – Today’s activity was both fun and challenging. In one group, students had to play a game by flipping a coin; make predictions and analyze the results. In another activity, students had to use the number cube and write the probability for given questions. We will continue tomorrow.
