Today students took notes on Canadian history after the warm up, then were instructed to define all key terms from chapter 5, which will serve as a foundation to be built upon for later discussions. Also, students were instructed to read Section 2, pp. 124-127 on “Constitutional Monarchy”.
You never know when you will see a quick quiz over key terms on Wednesday!
HOMEWORK- review notes, finish definitions, read section 2

Today students continued with the assessment of presentations, which will moved into a direction of learning next week. I emphasized the more items you wrote down under the “you learned” column, the better off you’d be. So, next week, we will take it to another thinking level.
HOMEWORK- review any notes you have and read section 2

Today students discussed how to correctly read a bar graph and answer its questions. Then, we took a School Improvement Student Survey and began the last of the province presentations.
I encouraged students to review their notes each night, spend 5 minutes reading your notes.

HOMEWORK- keep reviewing your notes

Today students started their province presentations, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd periods took a page of notes. We are trying to maximize time, so we get our notes done while presentations are being done. Our test over Canada is looking like Wednesday of next week.
Luka, Tyler, and Kelli set the presentation bar very high and did an excellent job. Rachel and Summer really had an awesome one as well. Great job to many groups today!
HOMEWORK- may want to look over your notes
