Thank all the students of 6A for some incredible memories. Thank you parents for your support and a year’s worth of energy, your student(s) made it through another year. As I reflect on this year, some issues that students could focus on next year to help them be more successful would be, one, don’t worry about anybody’s business but yours, two, if you are absent make sure you complete all make up work, three, turn in all assignments, no matter how small you think they are, four, respect and treat others the way you want to be treated, and five, come to school with an open mind, ready to learn in different ways. Please make the world a better place. I hope everybody enjoys the summer break and comes back with renewed energy. I will miss all my students. Make sure you come by to visit and share some of your summer stories…have fun!

Today we watched many imovies in the theatre during 1st and 2nd periods, which were very interesting. 3rd and 4th periods turned in journal entries and brainstormed imovie ideas for all content areas. We will go to the theatre during 3rd and 4th periods tomorrow, and have class 1st and 2nd, which will follow the above assignment and turn in journals.
Reminder, don’t bring any materials Thursday and Friday. Thursday in Yearbook and Camera day!

After your U. S. and Canada test, you were to go to the maclab and finish your imovie. You also had a journal entry on “Tell me all about your imovie experience” (include any thoughts that relate to your imovie experience, how to improve it, what was frustrating, what you liked, what you disliked, tell us what to do to make the experience better, etc.), which is due tomorrow.
Please know that there will be an adjusted schedule tomorrow, so that we may view the imovies. We will go to the theatre during 1st and 2nd period tomorrow, and then we will go to the theatre on Wednesday during 3rd and 4th periods.
3RD PERIOD- I NEED YOUR IMOVIE LOGINS (WHERE EVER YOU SAVED YOUR IMOVIE) -SEE ME IN HOMEROOM
Please take home your culture box by Wednesday, or it will be thrown away.

After taking some more notes today, we went to the maclab and experienced some memory issues. So, the final products will be due end of class Monday because of the situation. Please make sure you are bringing audio CD’s for songs, not ipods. The ipod does not work on the school macs, we tried some today. Below are the notes in word document form, we will take some down in the maclab tomorrow. The test is still on Monday.

After the notes on Saskatchewan, classes went down to work on imovies. I have told all classes that most of the picture importing should be done and pictures should be assembled in your appropriate order. Tomorrow should be for text, transitions and music. Make sure you have facts and quality content in your titles. In other words, you need substance to explain your issue. It should not be a bunch of photos and transitions that state nothing.
Tomorrow, British Columbia and some of the United States, then Friday will be United States history, go over the review guide, and your test will be on Monday.
HOMEWORK- if you need the review guide printed off it would be helpful to you, it’s in yesterday’s blog.

imovies are taking shape in the maclab for most students. However, some students need to get busy and manage their time and resources more appropriately. All photos should be in and done by tomorrow, text and titles should be done by class end tomorrow, maybe even work on transitions and music, Thursday finish editing and wrap up loose ends. Friday is due day. NO word on ipods, so just bring CD’s for music.
The review guide is below, feel free to print one out at home and answer it as we take notes in class. The test will be on Monday, bring a pencil.

Today many groups began the imovie assignment in the maclab. The assignment is due this Friday. Some students however are mismanaging their time and will be given an alternate assignment. I showed the rubric and discussed each component. I went over the schedule for the week, you will be working on imovies and taking notes on United States history, splitting class time. The large test on Monday is over United States history and Canada (Quebec, Saskatchewan, British Columbia). It is a scan tron test so please bring a #2 pencil.

I am trying to finish up the review guide, so check back tomorrow, I have some material to condense to make the test more managable.
Every night collect as many pictures as you need for your imovie. The morning sessions are "first come first serve", which means if all the computers are being used, report to the Cafeteria.

You watched an interesting video clip on Canada: its land, economy, and resources. While you were watching you were to fill in your quiz sheet. It was out of 13, since there were 13 questions. The remainder of the time (20 minutes) was spent finalizing imovie storyboards. You must have it approved to work on a mac next week. Starting Monday morning sessions are available, your pass is your storyboard.
Keep collecting photos and audio.
HOMEWORK- work on any aspect of the imovie
U. S. and Canada test is moved to Monday the 21st. Review guide will be available come Monday.

Today I explained how to effectively use the storyboard to get your imovie ideas down on paper. You were to work with your group and get all ideas down on this "imovie sketchpad", so that you could start to visualize how it will look. Tomorrow you will have it completed and checked off by me, so that you are ready for construction starting next week. You should be collecting appropriate materials to bring with you so that you may import them when we go to the lab. The final product is due on May 18th.
Starting Monday, I will be in the maclab for those students that would like to work seriously on their imovies, starting at 8am and ending at 8:45am.
