Today you spent time going over how to correctly create a bar graph. We took some sports data from the class and converted it to an appropriate bar graph, then we discussed the parts. We also took two sports to compare and contrast in the form of a Venn Diagram. You understood this concept and demonstrated your knowledge through completing it on the board as a class. We played several warm up games to get the blood flowing, taught you some climate commands (tundra, continental, arid, tropical). You were also given the homework assignment that is due on Tuesday. Below is a link in case you didn’t copy it in class. I would like sentences please, not one word answers. Don’t forget to ask your parents for help if you need it. Access mapquest for directions with your parents permission to answer number one.

Today, you were to finish the rainfall graph, and then start and complete the 5 Themes activity. I explained in detail your assignment, to interpret 18 comics as to how they relate to the five themes. Both assignments were due at the end of class, you had almost the entire class period to work on them. I told all classes that each activity must be completed by class end or a zero is earned. Many students wasted time and socialized with partners, therefore earned their zeros. I even wrote on the board, due- end of class in red.
Tomorrow we will have some "housekeeping" and go over some assignments. Next week, we will attempt to start Europe.

As we are trying to wrap up the themes of Geography, today you had a small Rainfall graph dealing with several of the themes and some basic math skills. You were allowed to work with a partner and complete the activity. I know you did not finish so you will have time to do so tomorrow. I also showed a short video clip from brainpop.com about the themes and all classes took an informal quiz afterward, that was not for a grade just for knowledge. You also were to try to finish page 40. The graph will be due tomorrow, end of class.

It was a productive day today and I was very proud of each class for really working hard. I lectured a little and gave some notes on the components (features, parts, fields, categories, (we talked about synonyms too), etc.) of social studies.
CHEGG- Culture, History, Economics, Geography, Government
I also answered many questions about the island project after I handed each student a large sheet of paper for the island. Remember, the islands are due on MONDAY. As I walked around the room, I saw some excellent products. Make sure you turn in your best work on Monday!!
Have a super weekend!

After handing in your room maps, you were to open your book to p. 12-13. I gave you some time to review the physical features on those pages and then we played several review games to refresh your memories. Some classes were quite impressive, I was totally impressed. You were given a handout to complete as part of the review. This is not a homework grade, it is for review purposes.
Tomorrow we will look at the book in more detail, read a little from Chapter 1, and take some notes of the screen. You will have a physcial feature project coming up very soon. Please be reviewing your physical feature handout. Below is a link to what was on the handout, I copied it and put it on a word document.
