Today students handed in the journal entry from Friday (Medieval Times), the alternate topic for those that didn’t go is below, then we talked about the trip and then we reviewed some material that is from the past. I also showed you the pictures I took from Friday.
Alternate topic for journal entry- "What are your goals for the fourth nine weeks? Describe how you are going to achieve your goals." 1/2 page please minimum. Due tomorrow.
Using the CRCT preparation workbook, you and a partner were to answer the 40 questions, then, we will discuss the answers tomorrow.
The story you must compose is below as well. This will be a HOMEWORK grade and will be collected at the end of class tomorrow.

Today students retook the map quiz, since it may have been confusing, then they took the DH quiz as well. After those quizzes, students were to complete the following review pages, they were also allowed to collaborate with peers as to discuss the information. Below you will find the pages and the answers, so that students may review the correct information.

I also went over the field trip guidelines and wrote those on my board: NO GUM/CANDY/FOOD ON THE BUSES, NO IPODS, NO GAMES/ELECTRONIC DEVICES, CELL PHONE MUST BE OFF, NO PURCHASING OF ANYTHING WEAPON RELATED. This is for student benefit. There will be lots of other students there and we will be ambassadors of excellence!
DON’T FORGET TO WEAR A RED T-SHIRT AND ATHLETIC SHOES.

Wow, we really reviewed for this beforehand, the song(s), and relay review, then you took the complicated quiz…in fact, I think I will give a more simple version of this quiz tomorrow. So, be expecting a simple political map quiz tomorrow.

Today students copied the DH 4 warm up, historical questions, then they worked in the "partner" format to collaborate on thinking critically, answering the section called "Critical Thinking" questions 1-3, then filling in the triple venn diagram on the board. The skill we working on today, is comparing and contrasting the Aztecs, Mayas, and Incas.
Please make sure you review for the political map quiz tomorrow, know the countries and capitals of Latin America, and where they are located.

Today students took the warm up question quiz, then we reviewed the countries and capitals of Latin America, then we watched a video clip on the Aztecs (I encouraged you to take notes), then I explained the partner article assignment, which is in the link below. It is due for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th periods on Monday.
• using your notes from the videos, will write an article informing the public about how unique the Mayas and the Aztecs were.
• The article must be half a page minimum. Must include historical information. Think about contributions!
HOMEWORK- finish article, and practice political map material (countries and capitals) for quiz on Tuesday.

Today students copied the rest of the warm up questions, quiz tomorrow over them, then we reviewed briefly the countries of Latin America, then I explained Mayan Math, which is in the link below. We also heard the Latin America songs, Central/Caribbean track 1, then South America track 2.
