Today students took the DH 3 quiz then took part in a lesson on the "Black Death", bubonic plague (sixth grade wide). I went over a powerpoint on this and showed a short video clip as well. Then I showed students who had been infected with the plague, as part of our simulation based on historical statistics. Monday, we will tie this up with what did this mean for Europe and begin "Exploration".
Thanks to all the students who were good sports and had fun today learning about the plague.
HOMEWORK- none
IMPORTANT: I mentioned there would an optional Eastern Europe Map Test re-take on Wednesday of next week. It’s a choice.

Students copied the rest of DH 3 (quiz tomorrow) and took a pop quiz over what they should have read last night, pp. 301-306 (Renaissance Section 1). We talked at length about art and the Renaissance, and how some techniques were started during this time. Students had a choice of perspective, ceiling art, portrait, or realism. Ms. Sgrignoli helped us on some material to explain some of these, thank you Ms. Sgrignoli. Below you will find the powerpoint on perspective. I asked all students to bring their art for tomorrow, we focus on some details tomorrow dealing with a dark topic. BEWARE THE RATS.
TOMORROW is also Wacky Tacky day and Halloween.

Today students started DH 3, then we discussed numerous topics, from political (electoral college revisit) to historical, to economic (from our political cartoon). Students are responsible for reading pp. 301-306 in the textbooks to be prepared for tomorrow’s lesson. They discussed the main ideas of each section today in small groups, and presented this to the class. Tomorrow, I will go over the importance of all the Renaissance information.
BRING RSG AND WORKBOOK TO CLASS ALL WEEK.
