Goal:

To involve students in such a way that will promote critical thinking skills and provide opportunities to use these skills. To have students use reading, writing, and technology as a means of gaining information and experiencing a variety of global cultures. To encourage students to become active members of this ever-changing world.

Make Up Policy:                         Detour

Becoming responsible is part of the growing process, therefore, students are responsible for any/all missed work. He/she is to check the blog and make arrangements for turning in missed assignments. They can also check with me/us and other students in that class as well. All tests and quizzes are made up before homeroom (8:15 am) by prior arrangement. It is the student’s responsibility to see the teacher to schedule an appointment and get a pass that allows the student access to the 6A Hall.

Materials Used:

McDougal Littell World Geography  textbook  ($45.99 to replace), technology resources, newspaper/magazine resources, colored pencils, atlases, supplemental resources, and other outside project materials.

Mrs. McFarlane is co-teaching with  me during 3rd Period.  Mr. Kay is co-teaching with me 3rd/4th Periods. Their contact information is below.

Through the student agenda

Evaluation:

Practice: 10%            (Homework, Warm-ups, Exit Tickets)

Progress: 20%          (Class-work, Daily quizzes)

Application: 35%       (Content Quizzes, Journals, etc.)

Mastery: 35%            (Tests/Projects)

Nameless Papers:

All nameless papers will be put in the “Who Can” when graded papers are being returned. If the student retrieves the paper within two weeks, the grade will be entered as it states on the paper, otherwise, after the time period a zero is earned. It is the students responsibility to bring the correction to the teachers attention.
