Kay Says Hey!

Last week we started reading Lupita Manana.  It’s a great book, and I think we will all benefit from learning about the difficulties this young girl faced.  After reading the first chapter we learned more about the characters by creating character cutouts.  The students will be presenting them in class on Thursday.  If you did not finish your cutout, please finish it before Thursday and be ready to present your character’s traits.  Also, bring your Georgia Studies book on Thursday because we will be reviewing some of the vocabulary in Chapter 15.  Have a great night! 

Today we were in the Mac Lab finishing our podcasts.  Those of you that were not able to finish today will have to find some time to complete them.  I’m very proud of all of you for being brave and recording your scripts!  Hopefully we will be able to listen to some of the podcasts over the next few class periods.

We are going to continue to focus on grammar over the next few weeks.  We started our notebooks last Friday, so make sure that you keep them updated.  Have a great night!

Yesterday, we began working on our podcasts.  These podcasts will summarize the informational texts that we read.  All of you quickly adapted to the new software and stayed on task throughout the class period.  We even managed to have a little fun with photo booth at the end of class! 

We will be recording our scripts on Wednesday, so practice reading through your scripts tonight.  I’m sure I will be amazed by your great pronunciation and fluency!
