We began discussing the issue of child poverty and the sectors that rely heavily on child labor. We also worked on our burrito books and completed page 88 in our vocabulary books. You do not need to finish your burrito book for homework; you will have time to work on it in class on Monday. Have a great weekend.
Don’t forget to come and see HONK! tonight!

Today we discussed the current Middle East peace talks at Annapolis. We talked about the religious tension in the Middle East and the issues surrounding the creation of a Palestinian state. We also completed a very important reflection paragraph on poverty. Last, but certainly not least, progress reports went home! I hope your parents are proud of your hard work!

Today we made burrito books so that we can use them to learn our unit 7 vocabulary words. We will be working on these throughout the week, so remember to bring them everyday. By the time you are finished with your book, you will definitely own these words!
If for some strange reason you haven’t turned in your summary for your project, you need to turn it in immediately. I cannot grade your project until I receive it. Progress reports go home tomorrow (A classes) and Wednesday (B classes).
Have a great night.

Today in IMPACT we made posters to raise awareness for poverty and encourage people to get involved in the organizations we have been researching. We will continue to work on these in my room during the next class period. You will also have some time to work on your summary in class, but you may want to get a head start on writing it.
Speaking of next class period, you have the privilege of showing me how well you have learned the units 4-6 vocabulary words by taking a test! Yes, that’s right – it’s a test! Remember to study your quizzes because all of the questions on the test will be taken directly from the quizzes.
Also, you have the opportunity to complete quiz corrections on the unit 6 quiz. These are due next class period as well. The corrections should include the vocabulary word, definition, and a sentence of your own creation. You will receive two points for every correction done properly.
Have an excellent night!

After our vocabulary quiz, we learned about the people of the world and what a village of 100 people would look like if it was representative of the world as a whole. We also did an activity that made us use our knowledge of math to determine what our classroom would look like if it was representative of the whole world. If you wer
e unable to finish the classroom percentage activity, please finish this for homework. If you want to get a head start on studying, you will have the units 4-6 vocabulary test next Thursday (A) and Friday (B).
Have a great night!

Today we finished discussing who is at fault for poverty. We watched a video that focused on the struggles of the people of Africa. Sometimes it is difficult for us to completely understand what other teenagers around the world are facing. We have much to be thankful for!
We are planning on having a vocabulary quiz next Thursday, November 8th. We will spend some time reviewing the words of Unit 6 on Wednesday which will be a "Skinny Day".
Enjoy your long weekend!
