Today we watched "The Great Global Warming Swindle". It is a rebuttal to Al Gore’s "An Inconvenient Truth". We are looking at both sides of the issue and coming to our own conclusions of the global warming debate. Later this week, we will begin working on our service learning project. It will be a great opportunity to give back to the community.

We finished watching "An Inconvenient Truth" today in class. If you have not turned in your research paper, you need to turn it in immediately; you are losing points every day!
On Monday and Tuesday, we will be watching the rebuttal to "An Inconvenient Truth" called "The Great Global Warming Swindle".

Today is Earth Day, so we started watching the documentary on global warming, "An Inconvenient Truth". We will finish it during the next class, and we will begin "The Great Global Warming Swindle". This will allow us to see both sides of the global warming issue, and you will come to your own conclusion. After viewing the documentaries, you will compose an essay outlining your thoughts on the issue using evidence from the documentaries. Make sure you take thorough notes!

Today we worked on the final drafts of our research papers. We looked at a website that provides all the information you need on MLA formatting. Here is a link to that website: Owl at Purdue MLA You do not need to have a cover page, but everything else should be formatted exactly as website shows.
Your research papers are due on Monday! I will accept them on Tuesday or Wednesday for no penalty, but you should plan on turning them in on Monday.
On Monday, you need to turn in:
~final draft with works cited page
~peer editing sheet
~rough draft
~research notes
~outline

We had the MacBooks in class today, and we began to compose our research papers. Some of the students needed to put some finishing touches on their outlines before they began to write; if you did not submit a finished outline, be sure to turn it in for a late grade.
At this point, you should have all of your research and your final outline completed; you should have a good start on writing your paper as well. If you have fallen behind in your progress so far, you need to spend some time working on this at home. We will continue to work on the computers during the next class period.
