We took a major quiz over the landforms and countries of Asia today. We also finished discussing the Ganges River. We will work on an activity tomorrow that will assess our understanding of the issues surrounding the Ganges River. We are on track for a test over the geography, culture and religion of Asia next Wednesday.

8th Grade Reading
We continued our work on consumer and public documents today by working with information found in phone books. If you have not turned in your current event, you must turn it in by Thursday.

We started exploring the geography of Southern and Eastern Asia today by looking at Chomolungma or Mt. Everest. We viewed a video on the dangers that climbers face when attempting to scale the tallest mountain in the world.

8th Grade Reading
After independent reading, we continued looking at context clues and how they can help us understand the words we come across in our reading. We read "After Twenty Years", a short story by O. Henry and looked for unfamiliar words and used context clues to figure out the meaning.
