Reading
Today we began our Thematic Unit on Survival. Over the next few weeks, we will be reading books that focus on a survival theme. We also read some real-life survival stories and discussed the traits that are necessary in survival situations. We will begin our books next week.

Today we discussed legends and the role they play in the development of culture. We looked at the Chinese poem The Ballad of Hua Mulan and talked about how it developed over time.

We learned about the conflict on the Korean Peninsula today in class. We are finished with all of the content material for the CRCT, and I am confident that all of you will do very well on Monday’s Social Studies CRCT!
