Test on Monday!

We will have our Native Americans and Explorations test on Monday.  Here is a copy of the Study Guide.  You should complete this by Monday and come to class with any questions.  Please review your Prehistoric graphic organizer (green) and your Creek and Cherokee graphic organizer (blue).  You should also study your Coach book questions on exploration.  You will need to utilize all of these in order to complete your study guide.

Homework:  Complete study guide and finish RAFT assignment from Monday’s class.

Exploration!

The Cherokee

stickballAfter submitting our prehistoric projects, we performed our skits and completed our presentations on the culture of the Cherokee.  We also talked about the sports of the Cherokee.   Don’t forget to review your DG questions for the quiz on Thursday!  Here are the slides if you were absent: DG Slides

Homework:  Complete the Venn diagram comparing and contrasting Cherokee stickball with American football.  Study for the Daily Georgia quiz.

Cherokee Clan skits

cherokee clansAfter working on our prehistoric project, we divided into clans and researched the lifestyles of the Cherokee. Each clan will present a short skit as an introduction to their topic (family, government, etc.).  We will have the skits and presentations on Tuesday.  If you did not complete your prehistoric project today in class, you should complete it for homework.

Homework:  Prehistoric project due on Tuesday!

Prehistoric Project

Mississippian PeriodWe finished our notes on the prehistoric inhabitants of North America today.  We began working on our prehistoric project,  and we will complete this in class on Friday.  We are planning on having a Daily Georgia quiz next Wednesday.

Archaeologists and their finds

archaeologistAfter the test today, we took a pre-test on Native Americans and we began discussing the importance of archaeology.  We read Motel of Mysteries and thought about how people in the future would view the artifacts they might find from our civilizations.
