Misleading Graphs

Classwork:

  • We did the first timed division drill today to begin class
  • You received three graded papers back today (1) last week skills drill, (2) Olympic Medal Histogram activity, and (3) stem-and-leaf and histogram quiz
  • We went through any questions you had about your quiz
  • You took a few bulleted notes about “misleading graphs.”
  • You had a partner and went around the room to 10 stations to figure out what was wrong with each of the graphs. Some of them were obvious, some were a little more difficult to tell. Some had multiple errors. We will review them at the beginning of class tomorrow. I’ve attached the power point if you want to review them at home tonight. misleading graphs

Homework:

  1. Complete the half sheet your received in class for homework (page 67 only)

Histogram Practice

Classwork:

  • We completed warm-up #3. If you were absent be sure to get the answer from someone when you return to class.
  • We checked homework from page 178, and we practiced making a frequency table with intervals and drawing a histogram together.
  • We finished filling in the unit 1 study guide….the study guide would be a great resource for you to study from for next week’s test.
  • You worked with a partner or two to begin the Olympic Medals task. You will continue to work on it tomorrow, and it will be turned in during class.

Homework:

  1. Thick workbook – page 179: #3 and #4…for #3 you should also create a histogram (on a separate sheet of paper) using the table you made. Please be sure to put the histogram on a separate sheet of paper because there is not room in your workbook.
