Mrs. V.
So sorry I forgot to update on Friday, but with the holiday celebration it just slipped my mind…
Classwork:
- I handed back any graded papers I might have still had
- You received your unit 4 test back, and we went through them to make sure I graded them properly.
- I called you up to the computer one at a time to let you know what your final grade was for the second nine weeks
- If you wanted, you could have taken one of the “puzzle worksheets,” cut apart the pieces, and tried to put it together to make the desired design. Quite a few of you wanted to take your pieces home, so you did. If anyone gets them put together properly, I’d love to see it when we return (glue it on another piece of paper).
Homework: HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY BREAK, AND I’LL SEE YOU IN 2010!

Mrs. V.
Classwork:
- We checked last night’s homework and went through any questions you had
- You received all of your graded papers from the past week back today, and you could’ve asked questions about anything you got back. Please double check your Pinnacle account to make sure all of your grades are correct. It’s much easier to fix any errors now rather than later.
- We played “Sink or Swim” to review for tomorrow’s test. If you want to finish the review questions, you can get the power point here Math 6 Unit 4 Review Game . Remember the game was set up for a different game, but the question (the thing you have to solve or do is on one slide, and the answer follows it)
- You could’ve picked up a practice one step equations sheet. The sheet is NOT required, but you can do some of the problems for practice if you want. It includes all opertions, fractions, decimals, and whole numbers. I’ll have the answer key posted on my front board tomorrow morning during homeroom if you want to come in and check any answers or you can come and ask questions if you’re having trouble with a problem.
Homework: Study for tomorrow’s test

Classwork:
- We went through last night’s homework at the beginning of class.
- You were to turn in the class assignment from yesterday if you didn’t turn it in yesterday
- You took the multiplication and division one step equations quiz…just like last quiz, I let you know which were incorrect and you could correct them for half of the points back
- With the remainder of class you could work on the mixed operations one-step equations worksheet
Homework:

Mrs. V.
Classwork:
- HW check
- You took the last skills drill of 2009 (if you didn’t already earn 100% last week)
- We reviewed how to multiply and divide fractions before starting multiplication and division one step equations with fractions….always remember to (1) simplify if possible, (2) do NOT get a common denominator when multplying or dividing, (3) only do the reciprocal when you are dividing, (4) convert mixed number to improper fractions before mult. or div., and (5) make you whole numbers improper fractions by putting the whole number over 1.
- YOu had 7 practice problems to complete for a classwork grade. You can come during homeroom to get them checked if you want to work on them some more during homeroom time. If you need the 7 problems, get them here One Step Mult & Div Fractions
Homework:
- Finish classwork problems if you didn’t finish them in class
- Thin workbook page 43
- Quiz tomorrow – multiplication and division one step equations
- Unit 4: One Step Equations Test – Thursday….IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE GONE THURSDAY, PLEASE ASK TO TAKE THE TEST PRIOR TO THE BREAK

Mrs. V.
Classwork:
- We started with a homework check as usual, and there were very few questions today….hopefully that’s a good sign about mult. and div. equations with whole numbers
- You completed the second timed skills drill of the week….remember, the third attempt for this one will be on Monday and we won’t have any others next week
- We discussed that there will be NO UNIT 4 RETEST due to the test falling one day before the end of the grading period….make sure you do your very best on Thursday
- If you currently have a “D” or an “F” you received a print out of your grades. I had highlighted the assignments which can be made up or turned in by next Wednesday (don’t wait until the last minute)
- If you have any missing assignments (maybe you were absent), I gave out printouts of those as well. Please have all make up work and quizzes completed by Wednesday, Dec. 18 (that’s in 5 days)
- We did a few division and multiplication with decimal one step equations so you had some examples
- You worked 4 regular problems and 1 word problem for a class activity grade. You could get it checked as many times as needed until you either earned 100%, were satisfied with your grade, or until the end of class. If you didn’t finish in class, you could take it with you to finish for homework
- With any remaining time, you worked on homework
Homework:
- The 5 classwork problems if you didn’t already turn them in for credit One Step Decimal Mult & Div
- Thick workbook – page 83: 1, 3, 7, 10, 12, 13, 16, & 17
- Mult. & div. one step equation quiz – Tuesday
- Unit 4 test – Thursday

Classwork:
- We checked last night’s homework and discussed any questions you had
- You took the addition and subtraction one step equations quiz today…..I was very impressed with how well most of you did the first time on the quiz. You turned in your quiz, I checked them, and gave them back to you to make corrections to any incorrect answers. If you corrected the answers, you lost 5 points instead of 10 points (which you would have lost the first time); if you still had it incorrect the second time, then you lost 10 points. You will get them back tomorrow, but you probably already know your score.
- Some of you had to finish yesterday’s in class assignment after the quiz
- You had the rest of the class period to work on homework
Homework:
- Thick workbook pages 39 & 42: EVENS ONLY
- Multiplication and division one step equations quiz Tuesday
- Unit 4 test

- You received the Unit 4 – One Step Equations study guide – the test will be either Wednesday or Thursday of next week
- We worked a couple of equations with fractions together as examples, then you had the remainder of class to work 6 problems as a class activity grade. Just like yesterday, you could come up and get them checked as often as you wanted. If you didn’t turn them in today, then you need to finish them for homework One Step Add & Sub Fractions
- Help session tomorrow morning at 8:15 A.M.
Homework:
