The class blog will be updated every “A” day. Class work, homework, test dates, project information, and due dates will be posted on this site. This is a great tool for both students and parents.
| Grading System: The following percentages will make up the students’ final grade:
v 50% from Tests and Projects v 30 % from Labs & Quizzes v 10% from Classwork v 10% from Homework

A 90 – 100 B 80 – 89 C 74 – 79 D 70 – 73 F Below 70 |

Required Supplies for Physical Science Class Pencil and pen, every day. Loose-leaf notebookwith extra paper (can be shared with another class). Basic calculator (scientific and/or graphing not necessary). Lab notebook (spiral notebook – about 70 pages)

| Extremely Helpful but NOT Mandatory
Ruler, erasers, replacement graphite (lead), extra pens, extra pencils, scissors, colored pencils, notebook dividers (this is highly recommended if you struggle with organization). |

Important Information!!! Extra Help: Extra help is available if needed. Mornings at 8:00 to 8:45 are best but I may not be accessible everyday. Please ask me ahead of time for availability and a pass to my room. Tardy Policy: Students will come to class on time. Any tardies will be marked on their behavior card. Late Work Policy: Students are expected to complete and turn work in on time. Students who have an excused absence will be required to turn work in according to the Cobb County make-up guidelines as indicated in their agenda. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher to request make-up work. Students without an excused absence or who are in attendance and fail to turn work in by the due date will receive a 10 point penalty per day, not per class period. After three class sessions, late work is no longer accepted! |

Dear Parents,
I am very excited about the 2009-2010 school year as well as the opportunity to work with your student! We are going to have an exciting year as we investigate the way science is at work in the world around us. Our curriculum is Physical Science. The chart below shows the order and duration of the units being studied this year. Specific topics, projects, and deadlines will be announced in class (and the blog) as we progress through the year.
